A new centre designed as a showcase for self-builders has chosen Thinsulex - believed to be the UK's only multi-foil to be BBA certified and part L compliant - as the recommended insulation material. The Earthwise Resource Centre based in Hastings, East Sussex provides materials and information on how to best build and live for the future in an environmentally friendly way. Gary Gates, of Earthwise, said: "We are only displaying materials we are convinced can meet the requirements of sustainable building for the long term and Thinsulex is one of those. "We want to help people understand the benefits of using these materials in timber-framed houses and that together they can make a warm, energy-efficient, cost-effective home." "We have found Thinsulex fits in perfectly and we are using it on four new timber frame house builds." Approved by LABC and accepted by NHBC, Thinsulex is a thin, flexible insulation which relfects infra-red radiation.
