In spite of being able to take lamps up to 70W of high output and having integral control gear, Thorn's E/Fact Slim is just 115mm deep and 85mm slimmer than the company's previous recessed outdoor luminaire offering. This enables it to be used for locations where mounting space is at a premium, for instance under a canopy, lighting a building facade or pedestrian areas, Two body shapes - square and circular - are available in three diameter sizes: 210mm, 280mm and 370mm. Other plus points in favour of E/Fact Slim - a selection of five lamp types, including LEDs, the option of ceiling versions and choice of frosted or part-frosted front glasses.

The Thorn Alu-bay, a high bay discharge luminaire complete with housing and reflector has been produced by Thorn Lighting. The robust aluminium housing comes in 250W and 400W wattages offering extreme versatility in the desired light source (HSE, HME or HIE). Wiring and fixing is simple, due to a pre-installed mains cable (1.5m), central suspension hook and a keyhole slots reflector connection method. IP65 protection is also available.

Invincible II is the name of Thorn Lighting's latest range of sealed luminaires for cleanrooms. Its low frame profile and lack of external fasteners is said to make it easy to clean and an extruded aluminium frame with toughened safety glass shields a prismatic diffuser or louvre for accurate lighting control.

Introducing a new version of its Primata pre-wired trunking system, Thorn Lighting has made the product easier to install and more aesthetically pleasing. The Primata II system has a 'snap-on and turn' mounting system that provides instant electrical connection. It is available in lengths from 1.2m to 4.6m, for surface mounting or suspension by rods, wires or chains.

Contemporary styling and minimalist lines are provided by the new Cesar range of wall-mounted cylindrical floodlights from Thorn Lighting. Two types are available, one with dual light emission, and the other with up and down only. There are four sizes in seven different lamp types, from 3W LEDs to 150W metal halide. Capable of switching instantly from a tight focus to flood width with a turn of the rear assembly, Graffiti spotlights from Thorn Lighting are designed for applications requiring ever changing display lighting. Employing flexible optics, the spotlights deliver stepless beam angle adjustments of between 10 to 35? or 25 to 55?. Light sculptor, Patrick Rimoux, has designed two LED luminaires, Band and Plane, for Thorn. Band is a metre long row of LEDs with an asymmetrical reflector emitting a sharp light. Plane is a two dimensional luminaire defining shape and form to suit the environment using an array of LEDs for a selection of modular fittings.

In a complete redesign, Thorn Sonpaks offer improved lighting, easier installation and simplified stocking compared to earlier models. Available in two units, 70W and 150/2500/400W, light distribution is improved by an asymmetrical reflector allowing greater downward beam control. Allowing for beam adjustments and image projection, the Milo from Thorn is an LED spotlight which is a flexible optical system. With a 50mm diameter, lens-type aperture, the slim cylindrical spotlight permits the shaping of the beam from 10 to 24 degrees with little light spill outside. Allen key controls that are built into the front of the fixture allows for the shaping. The projection of literal images, logos, breakups and textures can be achieved when an additional gobo holder accessory is combined with the focusing ability of the optics. It is a fully sealed IP65 rated spolight made from grey, textured aluminium employing a 2.4W LED in white, red, blue, green, or yellow. Projecting up to 10m, it can be rotated 350? or inclined 130? and its compact size makes it unobtrusive during daylight hours. Three models are available, one with integral gear, one with remote gear and one sealed to IP68 for submersible applications such as swimming pools.

The luminaries are linked by style, colour and motif, enabling designers to create a unified approach to lighting, in a similar fashion to how furniture and d?cor are selected when decorating in a business environment. The range covers pendants, wall fixtures, wall uplights, ceiling units and a downlight attachment, providing the flexibility to light various spaces whilst maintaining the appearance of a single environment. All of the products in the range have a satin cylindrical or semi-cylindrical diffuser supported by a steel frame and brushed steel fixings, employing compact fluorescent or metal halide lamps. Certain models can also be supplied in emergency lighting mode and for digital dimming.
