A series of perimeter, conveyor and stairwell safety barriers have been introduced by Troax UK.
The barriers are designed to protect staff working on a three storey high series of mezzanine floors at JVC's national distributon facility in Staples Corner, North London.
As part of the project Troax used its Caelum wire mesh partitioning to create the three meter high safety barriers which enclose the perimeter of the ground floor and two mezzanine floors above which are used for the storage of electronic components.
A clean room solution for global healthcare company Abbot Diabetes has been developed by Troax.
A series of rooms, used for the manufacture of diabetes monitoring equipment, has been constructed using Troax's Toledo partitioning system.
For the extension to Abbots existing production facility, Toledo double skin-steel partitioning was used to construct a series of eight cleanrooms where test strips are manufactured.
The steel partitioning is said to have provided an ideal solution to the project, which demanded a high standard of construction to ensure a controlled cleanroom environment.
The medium specification is of steel. monobloc construction and used inert and non-particle shedding finish. To prevent the collection of particles and ensure easy to clean, smooth surfaces, Toledo's two-line junction has a flush line cover channel and a lush line double glazing system resulting in minimal ledges, corners and flush surfaces.
Automatic sliding doors, also made from Toledo panels and fitted with circular vision panes, allow access to the cleanrooms while double glazed panels have been incorporated into the design.
Troax has designed and installed a series of secure, solid steel storage units for use by residents at Berkeley Homes' Chelsea Bridge apartment development in London.
Troax used its Sabre single skin, solid steel partioning system to construct the enclosures located within the basement car park. Each unit is fitted with a heavy duty hasp and staple that can be used in conjunction with the apartment owner's own padlock.
Industrial safety specialist Troax UK has supplied extensive runs of Anti-Collapse pallet rack safety screens to fashion retailer River Island’s European distribution centre in Milton Keynes.
The screens are said to have been installed in order to ensure the highest safety standards for personnel working in the busy picking area of the warehouse.
In total, 19 all-welded safety screens, each measuring up to 68 metres long, have been installed along the rear of the upper levels of pallet racking in the warehouse. The racking, used to store footwear, has over 5000 pallet locations and reaches heights of between 3.6 metres and 5.1 metres, according to the pitch of the roof.
The mesh screens prevent accidents occurring when pallets are being handled, catching items if they become dislodged and stopping them from falling and injuring staff working in the aisles. This is claimed to be particularly important in the busy picking area of the warehouse as it incorporates a new pallet rack layout, designed to allow manual picking and fork-lift truck picking to be carried out simultaneously 24 hours a day.
To make this possible, each row of pallet racking has a single entry aisle alongside, rather than the usual back-to-back layout, for either manual pickers working in the lower levels on one side or fork lift truck access on the other.
Excalibur double skin, steel partitioning from Troax UK has been used to create an office complex at Delphi Electronics and Safety's factory in Kirby, Liverpool.
Delphi brought in contractor Nixon and Gallagher to construct a series of offices, meeting rooms and storage areas using the modular system. Excalibur is said to have been specified for the project because it provides a high level of sound and heat insulation while its powder coat finish is hard wearing and attractive. The panels were supplied in a combination of full steel and single glazed versions.
A number of specially designed features were incorporated into the complex to meet the specific requirements of the site. Nixon and Gallagher installed a raised floor to accommodate computer cabling while Troax supplied custom-built doors, wider than its standard design to allow for some equipment.
Mark Nixon at Nixon and Gallagher described the partitioning as looking good, durable and hard wearing.
A new industry training facility has been opened by Trox UK. The facility, which will offer training to both employees of the company and customers, recently hosted its first technical meeting attended by more than 100 engineers.
Terry Farthing, director at the Trox Academy, said: "This is a unique training forum where you are first coached on the principles and theory, then you go into the laboratory and see the whole thing come alive with actual demonstrations on the specific systems under review.'
Aimed at assisting with the installation and modification of its range of wire mesh partitioning, Troax UK Ltd has launched a new fixing system.
The company says that the new fixing clamp, known as 'The End', makes it exceptionally quick and simple to install or modify on-site, helping to produce bespoke safety solutions for an array of industrial environments.
The clamp offers a flexible fixing solution for sites where modular mesh panels need to be adapted and cut to size in restricted spaces. It simply slots over the end of the panel that has been cut to size.
As the clamp is bolted to the cut wire there is no requirements for special tools. It also means that the final result appears to have a continuous purpose-made framework.
The product can be used with all other wire mesh fencing systems within the Troax range, including Caelum, Musca, and Cetus.
The company said the clamp was developed in response to customers' requests for a modification that was "fast, easy and with an aesthetically pleasing end result".
Double skin steel partitioning from Troax has been used to construct over 400m? of production facilities for Morgan Advanced Ceramics.
The company's Excalibur partitioning design consists of steel panels of monobloc construction and comprises of two steel skins separated by a composite insulating infill that provides sound and heat insulation. It also offers a fire rating of 30mins.
Wire mesh storage enclosures from Troax UK have been installed at Havant Borough Council's maintenance depot to secure valuable equipment.
Applying the Scimitar range of products, ten security cages were constructed and installed around the perimeter of the new warehouse. Each enclosure is approximately 6m by 7m and secured by a Euro profile cylinder lock.
Steel partitioning from the Troax Excalibur system has provided a cost-effective and versatile method of creating a series of new offices, workshops and production areas as part of the refurbishment of Pirelli's Carlisle factory. This double-skin partitioning was selected in a combination of solid steel and steel/glazed panels, used to create the different areas. In addition, existing Excalibur panels were re-utilised. Partitions were dismanteld and then reerected to create a new layout.
Part of a project to relocate and expand a parts storage facility at Honda UK in Swindon, Troax has built and installed a wire mesh enclosure to provide secure storage. The Scimitar wire mesh design allows stored items to be viewed easily while also providing security.
Walkers' Snack Foods is protecting staff at its new automated warehouse in Leicester using machine guarding systems from Troax UK. The machine fencing is being used to secure automated materials handling equiment in the newly build extension to Walkers' production facility. Troax's Safe-Fix fencing prevents unauthorised personnel from coming into contact with potentially hazardous conveyors, cranes and other materials handling equipment on the site.
Safety and partitioning system specialist. Troax, has launched a new cleanroom partitioning system, designed to meet the cleanliness requirements of a wide range of markets. Toledo modular partitioning is a medium specification system and the first of a new range from the company. Simple to install, the double skin system is of steel, monobloc construction and uses inert and non-particle shedding finish. It is also fully demountable for maximum flexibility.
Industrial safety specialist Troax UK has supplied a range of custom- designed wire mesh racking enclosures for cosmetics manufacturer Constance Carroll. The Collection 2000 range solves a number of health and safety issues at the Skelmersdale warehouse.
