An Oxfordshire private school has had high efficiency ecoMAX commercial boilers installed courtesy of Vaillant. Cranford House School in Wallingford needed to replace their old heating system after the boiler had had started to leak. The ecoMAX boilers were specified and installed by Advanced Maintenance in Reading. David Jones of Advanced Maintenance said later: ' Space in the boiler house was tight. Vaillant's ecoMAX high efficiency wall-hung boilers are extremely compact for their output, in this cae 46kW each. We have installed three and have left the possibility of adding more if the school chooses to extend the building.' The ecoMAX range of commercial, high efficiency condensing boilers is available in three power output options. They are 35kW, 46kW and 65kW and are all SEDBUK Brand 'A' rated. The company says they use fuel more economically; a high performance stainless steel heat exchanger captures otherwise wasted heat.

Valliant has provided high efficiency Climavair air conditioning units for a 150,000 sq ft office and warehousing conversion project in East Yorkshire. The high wall range uses R410A refrigerant, and features a three level filtration arrangement - anti-micobial, anti-dust and activated carbon - and provides both horizontal and vertical air swing

Used in conjunction with inverter condensing units, Vaillant has supplied eight wall mounted climaVAIR air conditioning units for Bankfield Surgery in Elland. Four multi-split units have been installed at the surgery alongside four mono-split units. The range has A-rated efficiency, hot start, dehumidifier, de-ioniser and a sleep function.

As part of its Decent Homes programme, London Borough of Greenwich has installed 36 Vaillant ecoTEC plus combination boilers. The ecoTEC plus 831 boilers deliver SEDBUK A rated fuel efficiencies, offering up to 35% less gas than with older models. All boilers feature an enhanced AquaComfort system to provide control and performance.

In order to reduce C0? emissions at a client's property, Green Heat, a heating engineering company, installed a Vaillant ecoTEC plus 831 combination boiler. Establised in 1990 with the purpose of raising awareness of energy efficiency for the benefit of householders and the environment, Green Heat has been developing the Green Home Energy Audits. These reports include the provision of a SAP energy rating. Following the installation of the ecoTEC 831 condensing boiler, the homeowner's SAP rating improved from 29 to 74, a reduction of 3.9 tonnes of CO? per annum or 55%.

A floor-standing, atmospheric boiler has been launched by Vaillant's Applied Systems Division. Aimed at the replacement market, the new range is compatible with Vaillant, BEMS and external control systems for single or multiple boiler installations, while it also complies with Part L2 of the Building Regulations. There are eight models in the atmoCRAFT series, with outputs from65kW to165kW. All models are equipped with a class 5, low NOx atmospheric burner in a sealed combustion chamber and an integral draught diverter with an automatic flue damper.

New additions to Vaillant's ecoTEC range of high efficiency condensing boilers include four open vented boilers - the ecoTEC plus, 415, 418, 428 and 438 - and one combination boiler - the ecoTEC pro24. All ecoTEC boilers feature SEDBUK band A rated fuel-efficiencies. The ecoTEC plus range is available in outputs of 15, 18, 28 and 38kWs with a NOx class 5 rating and 600 by 375 by 340mm dimensions. Incorporating a warm start facility from the company's 'Aquacomfort' system, the ecoTEC pro 24 offers a fully modulating output of between 18 to 24 kWs. Accessories for the new boilers include a weather compensator to improve efficiency and an ecoLEVEL condensate pump.

In order to reduce CO? emissions and provide energy efficiency, a Vaillant ecoTEC plus 624 system boiler and solar domestic hot water heating system have been installed at a property on the banks of the Kennet and Avon canal. The solar domestic hot water heating system involved the installation of three of Vaillant's auroTHERM 550 evacuated tube solar collectors. These were delivered pre-assembled with 16 tubes. An auroSTOR stainless steel twin coil solar hot water cylinder, solar pump and controls, and an auroMATIC 560 solar controller were also installed, linking to the ecoTEC plus boiler.

After launching its Total Solar System Solution in early 2006, Vaillant has launched a new addition to the range, a flat plate solar collector. The auroTHERM VFK 900 has ultrasonically-welded copper absorbers and 60mm insulation on the rear and sides for enhanced efficiency, providing a solar glass transmission of 91%. With a polished aluminium frame, it has tough 4mm glass for increased robustness, an overall size of 1160 by 1930 by 110mm, and a weight of 43kgs. The range of mounting accessories ensures the collectors, which can be installed horizontally or vertically, are suitable for pitched, flat and integrated roofs.

Some 500 ecoTEC combination boilers from Vaillant are being provided for Golden Gates Housing Association, Warrington. SEDBUK Band A rated and compact, the company claims that the 831 model allows for savings of up to 35% on gas compared to older, less efficient units. Part of a sustainable project on the island of Flat Holm includes renewable energy fittings from Vaillant's solar direct hot water systems. The project involved placing one of the company's solar arrays with 12 panels on the roof of the Foghorn Keeper's Cottage, and another with 16 panels on a farmhouse. AuroTHERM evacuated tube solar collectors from the company are delivered pre-assembled. Up to 16 collectors can be connected in series and the product features a high selective absorber coating, internal reflector to reduce reflector degradation, and no o-ring seals.

Kent-based charity, Hi Kent, has installed a Vaillant ecoMax 824E with horizontal air/flue duct and terminal in its kitchen area. With a maximum DHW output of 23kW and central heating output range at 80?C flow/60?C return of between 11 and 18.4kW, it was suitable for the charity as it is efficient and has low emissions. Built-in features on the product include a two stage frost thermostat and automatic system bypass.

Integrating solar domestic hot water (dhw) and traditional domestic heating systems, Vaillant's solar system solution is Building Products' Product of the Month for May. The solar heating system is designed to offer around 50-60% of annual domestic hot water requirements. It can be installed with a new Vaillant boiler but is also compantible for use with an existing heating appliance. The company's auroTHERM evacuated tube solar collectors are provided pre-assembled with either eight or 16 tubes for ease of installation. Panels can be pushed together and a total of up to 12 panels can be connected in series. A choice of twin-coil stainless steel unvented cylinders is available, designed specifically for solar dhw systems. Finally, the auroMATIC 560 provides differential solar control and decides whether there is sufficient solar power, or if an auxiliary power source is required.

Condensing combination boilers from Vaillant's 50 ecoTEC plus 824 and 831 range have been supplied to a development in Winsor. The ecoTEC plus boilers are compact, measuring 720mm by 440mm by 335mm, and are the lowest weight appliances in their class, the company claims. SEDBUK Band 'A' rated, they offer an enhanced version of the company's 'AquaComfort' system that incorporates a warmstart facility. Provided with the boilers are a 10-litre expansion vessel, automatic two speed pump, an automatic adjustable by-pass, built-in filling loop and siphonic condensate discharge, along with pre-formed copper pipework for central heating flow and return connections.

Buy4London (B4L) has agreed to purchase boilers through Procurement for Housing (PfH) for the ten London registered social landlords (RSLs) that make up the efficiency consortium. B4L will buy boilers from Vaillant through PfH - the national purchasing organisation dedicated to the housing sector. The Buy4London consortium currently manages some 200,000 properties across the home counties and anticipates spending ?20m on boilers by 2011. Vaillant are to supply more than 30,000 boilers over the next five years. The company was chosen due to its knowledge of the RSL market and expertise in high efficiency condensing boiler technology. Its long term view of boiler replacement and the B4L analysis of life-time cost was also key.

The 28kW output boiler is in the ecoMAX range which offers outputs of 13kW to 35kW. They all feature stainless steel heat exchangers and provide efficiencies in excess of 91%.
