Made entirely from recycled plastic composite material, EnviroKerb has been applied by King Construction on a project for Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council. The lightweight properties of the product meet current health and safety requirements for manual handling, and it eliminates the need for hydraulic machinery. As well as providing durability and strength, the company claim it is up to 70% lighter than concrete alternatives.
A selection of polystyrene block has been donated by Vencel Resil for the creation of a 1.37m high sculpture as part of the Jigsaw Sculpture 2006 project.
The sculptor, Jon Edgar worked with three special needs schools based in Hertfordshire. He produced a one-off piece to coincide with the an exhibition of the children's sculptures at the Courtyard Theatre, Hereford.

Flat-roof insulation has been provided by Vencel Resil for a roofing system at a redevelopment of a new Primark store on Lincoln High Street. Jabtherm EPS type 100 was used alongside a felt system laminated to the board. It was specified to minimise the need for multi-layering, as the product provides the required insulation in a single layer.
Structural Insulated Panels from Vencel Resil's Jabsip range have been installed in a construction at Bushloe High School in Wigston, Leicester. Manufactured using an Expanded Polystyrene insulation cord Type 100E sandwiched between 12mm oriented strand board, they were used with Velfac windows and doorframes in a Glulam diaphragm timber frame. The speed of installation allowed for quick watertightness.
Meeting its flooring requirements in two brand new halls of residences, Dundee University has employed Vencel Resil's Jabfloor 70. Some 3000m? of the Jabfloor board was installed. It is flexible and can be adapted to fit between or below joists to provide insulation to suspended timber ground floors, in this case meeting the insulation requirements for the project.
Employed at the Eden Project in Cornwall, and taken from Vencel Resil's range of Jablite insulation products, Jabfloor is providing a solution to the new education centre, 'The Core'.
High floor loadings were likely to be encountered, so 100mm-thick Jabfloor Grade 150 was supplied. Approximately 66m of Jabfloor was used under a screed finish and a similar quantity for under a concrete slab.
The Eden Project prefers environmentally friendly products and Jabfloor offers low thermal transmittance and also satisfys the specified u-value requirements.
Versatility allows the product to be used in a variety of commercial and domestic buildings and settings. Durable for the building life, it is rot-proof, and installation requires no specialised equipment or skills.
Providing thermal upgrading and waterproofing, Vencel Resil?s Jablite Profile has been used on an existing low pitched profiled metal roof construction at Donisthorpe Hall, a nursing home for the elderly in the Moortown area of Leeds. The Jablite Profile was supplied to fit bespoke design requirements and placed over the existing profile metal on the roof with singleply membrane fitted over the top. The installation took four days with no disturbance to the rooms or residents below. Following the installation, the insulating properties of the products should reduce any further heat loss and provide a better performance from the building.
Harewood Homes, a development of ten houses near Peterborough, has utilised Vencel Resil?s 60mm Jablo flooring board for the three and four bedroom houses. Fitted on top of block flooring in the houses, the company says that the board?s thickness has been reduced by 20% compared to other products due to its enhanced thermal performance.
