Ward Insulated Panels reports that it has supplied an insulated roof deck that helped meet tight deadlines on the Anchor Point residential development in Sheffield. The company tells Building Products magazine that Advanced Roofing Ltd installed Topdek supplied with an integral Trocal membrane to the city centre development of 188 contemporary apartments. Topdek is best described as a factory pre-engineered single fix roof deck that facilitates faster on-site assembly. It comprises a high-performance single-ply PVC outer membrane integrally bonded to a FIREsafe PIR insulation core approved to Loss Protection Certification Board (LPBC) standards with zero Ozone Depletion Potential (zero ODP) and a steel trapezoidal profile inner deck. Richard Clapp, operations director for Advanced Roofing Ltd said: “We have been using Topdek for a long time and it is always the product we recommend to our clients. It is a really efficient product to use because it takes very little time to install. We always work to tight deadlines and, with large projects like Anchor Point, it’s vital that we keep to our schedules. Topdek allows us to do this as it is both easy and quick to fit and makes the whole project run smoothly.”

Ward Insulated Panels has promoted Helen Taylor to its External Sales Team as Area Sales Manager for North East England. Helen joined Ward in September 2004 working for the Internal Sales Team covering the south of the UK from its offices in Sherburn, North Yorkshire. Before joining the company Helen was sales and marketing manager for a business in Scarborough, her home town. Helen will be supporting and advising architects, contractors and specifiers on the range of Ward roof and wall systems

Central Cladding has installed Topdeck from Ward Insulated Panels on an apartment project in Cheltenham. The development incorporates an unusual 'C' shaped building which presented a roofing challenge. The curved building, which steps from two storeys to four, required tapered roof panels. The versatility, and speed of fitting of Topdeck, the all-in-one single ply roofing system proved the solution.

For Focus' warehouse complex in Tamworth, the company specified Ward IP1000 insulated roof panels and DW Minirib insulated wall panels. The panels allowed for the manufacturing of the same design effect of vertical and horizontal blue-coloured banding that already existed without the problem of interstital condensation. A tongue and groove concealed fixing is used for the cladding system.

Roof and wall panels from Ward Insulated Panels have been supplied for the new Hillsborough College in Sheffield. In all, 7000m of panels were installed. The company supplied 4500m of its new Topdek single-ply roofing system and 2000m of secret fix wall panel for the project. Topdek is a factory pre-engineered composite roof panel that facilitates faster onsite assembly. It comprises a high performance single-ply pvc outer membrane intergrally bonded to a Firesafe rigid PIR insulation core, with a steel trapezoidal profile inner deck for structural strength. A new self-coring screw for the Topdek product allows for a single operation installation without the fixings normally associated with panels.

Scarborough's new Opera House Casino has Ward Insulated Panel's DW900 D secret fix flat wall panels finished in pvdf Metallic Silver, complemented by the company's IP1000 panels finished in Corus Colorcoat HPS200 Goosewing Grey on the roof. Supplied for Arla's dairy at Stourton, Leeds, is 5000m of Topdek, Ward Insulated Panel's single ply insulated roof panel. Arla's ?75 million investment at the dairy provides processing facilities for milk to major retailers.The product is an all-in-one roof panel comprising a trapezoidal steel deck, PIR insulation core and integral pvc outer membrane.

Pre-finished in Colorcoat HPS200 by Corus, Ward Insulated Panels has used 22500m? of its IP1000 and DW1000 roof and wall panels on L'Oreal's new Trafford Park Distribution Centre. Ward Firesafe wall panels provided a cost effective solution which was also aesthetically suited to the demands of a large distribution outlet. L'Oreal chose Corus Colorcoat HPS200 in Sargasso, Albatross, Hamlet and Wedgewood Blue coloured panels for its distribution centre. The combination of the two products offered the warehouse facility reduced on site assembly time and a wide colour choice.

Some 5000m? of the product, in copper green, was utilised on the roof which incorporated many different levels and a variety of rooflights. To complement the rural environment at a new medical education centre at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, products from Ward Insulated Panels have been employed. Located on an exposed greenfield site, a solution was required that would be sympathetic to the local surroundings. Green DW1000D wall panels in Celestia Pegasus finish were specified as a cost-effective product to blend with the rural landscape. In addition, IP1000 insulated roof panels were specified for the two mono-pitched roofs at the hospital and the Ward Topdek preinsulated membrane roof panel was used for the flat roof area of the building.

Located in Carlisle, a new BMW facility features Ward Insulated Panels? IP1000 composite roof panels in goosewing grey. In addition to this, the company has also supplied 1,000m² of DW1000D white insulated wall panels to complete the building, which has a bodyshop, showroom display area and offices. This has helped cut air leakage to 3.12m³hr./m². Design features include curtain wall glazing to one end to create a showroom display area, and roof overhangs to both sides of the building.

Retail units based at Kingsway West retail park in Dundee have been clad with Ward insulated roof and wall panels. The DR and DW panels are part of the Firesafe range and are approved to LCPB standards. For this project ? which incorporates a residential block and prayer hall for the Sikh community ? DW1000 flat wall panels in Hamlet were supplied to create a contemporary finish.
