The refurbishment of the Princess Theatre in Devon is now complete, with Zinsser supplying a range of its paint products for the project.
Sealcoat from Zinsser is a shellac universal sanding sealer, compatible with all clear wood finishes. It has a fast drying formula, allowing it to be recoated in minutes.
Zeroflame Matt Clear Varnish was applied over the Sealcoat to provide a perfect, beautiful, even rich finish to the panelling. Zeroflame Matt has the added advantage of restricting the spread of flame and reducing the contribution that the substrate would normally make in the event of a fire.
To cover graffiti and fire damage in void property refurbishment, B-I-N primer sealer from Zinsser can be applied.
The B-I-N white pigmented shellac-based primer sealer has a multi-role function: primer, sealer, stain killer, and odour repellant. It can be applied to most internal surfaces, dries quickly and can be recoated in 45 minutes.
Primers are formulated to fill open pores, creating a uniform smooth base in one coat. Its stain blocking properties are the result of resins that eliminate the risk of bleed through of stains.
Fast drying surface coatings from Zinsser have been specified by Abbey National and Vauxhall for use in their branches and showrooms.
On-site contractor, Abbey Coatings, has recently completed projects using the company's products, including the spraying of Abbey National branches' shop fronts as well as interiors and exteriors at Vauxhall garages.
Ceilings on the Abbey National contract required a system which protected against future staining. The company's Odourless Primer Sealer was specified and applied to water and nicotine stains with Permawhite utilised as a topcoat.
The company's Permawhite Satin and Eggshell finishes protect against mould or mildew growth. When spray applied, a seamless finish is achieved. Effectively odour free, the company's Odourless Primer Sealer is quick drying and can be left as a flat matt finish.
Extending the Perma-White range of water-based, low-odour, fast drying mould and mildew proof self-priming pants, Zinsser has introduced a washable Interior Eggshell version. Designed for application in high-humidity areas, it will keep moisture prone commercial areas looking bright. It is self-priming and seals porous surfaces.
Royal William Yard in Plymouth is currently undergoing redevelopment into waterfront apartments, with Zinsser paints playing a role in the internal makeover. The paints have been specified for the interior of each apartment. As the previous structure was in close proximity to the water, bitumen was used extensively used. The painting contractors originally specified an aluminium primer, but this proved ineffective. The solution was a two coat formula - a base coat of Zinsser Bulls-Eye 1-2- 3- and a finish coat of Bulls-Eye Odourless. The combination ensures no bleed through of bitumen.
Two tower blocks at Longwood Park in Slough are being refurbished with Zinsser paints and primers playing a significant role in the internal redecoration. The 13 storey blocks, comprising 192 flats, are halfway through a programme that includes rain screen cladding, new double glazing, central heating, kitchens and bathrooms. Internally, all the communal areas and corridors are being treated using Bulls Eye 1-2-3 primer. The primer is a fast drying white pigmented acrylic latex undercoat. It is formulated for use on all types of exterior and interior surfaces either previously painted or new work. A key feature of the paint is that it seals all porous surfaces and acts as a stain blocker. It has a breathable film, which lets interior house moisture escape, and its low odour makes it suitable for large scale repainting work, such as the Longwood Park application, where there is high traffic. Bulls Eye seals porous surfaces and contains a zero flame spread and low smoke generation properties.
