 Bolton-based Lancashire Trade Frames is celebrating the sale of its first bi-fold door with orders for plenty more. With the help of Siegenia-Aubi, who is providing its popular, high performance FS-Portal hardware for the doors, the Lancashire fabricator is confident that this is the start of something big.
Production director Jason Hollins said: 'We wanted to create the best possible bi-fold door, and so we turned to Siegenia-Aubi. I've used their products since I first started out in the trade and Siegenia-Aubi area sales manager John Chambers has been instrumental in helping us get the first door exactly right. Now we're ready to start manufacturing on a bigger scale.'

Cooke Brothers |
 High performance door hinges, from architectural ironmongery manufacturer Cooke Brothers, have been fitted Jeld-Wen doorsets throughout the new Freedmens Meadow development at Leicester.
An important innovation for some new Cooke Brothers hinges is a new revolutionary hinge bearing system with integral polymer bushes. These are used for their high load-bearing characteristics.

Tormax United Kingdom Ltd Doors open automatically for sixth formers |
 Aiming to improve accessibility for all students and staff, Farnborough Sixth Form College, contracted Glass Products to design and install a lobby area to the main entrance of the building, with automatic door operators being supplied by Tormax.
Making a feature of the curved transom of the existing brickwork, an all-glass lobby has been created with a double set of automatic doors ensuring smooth flowing foot traffic, even at busy times of the day.
Due to location restrictions, two Tormax TDA operators were used for the inner set of swings doors while a cost-effective Win Drive slide door system was installed on the external entrance.

 Rockdoor now offers its leading composite door with a blue-white PVC-U frame so it matches windows in this colour. The sculptured outer-frame matches Duraflex's blue-white profile and Synseal Blu so installers can offer homeowners a complete PVC-U suite of windows and doors.
The company's sales director Mark Simm said: 'Homeowners prefer a fully matching suite but few other composite doors are offered in blue-white. Masterdor Doors are put into pods |
 Doorsets from Masterdor have been installed in prefabricated pods at the first phase of a new housing development, recently completed by North West-based construction company G & J Seddon Ltd.
The pods were all pre-installed with doors, windows and kitchens and then delivered to site where they were erected to form the ground and first floor structures. A combination of modern and traditional building methods completed the project.

Glas Facades Both Worlds |
 A new aluminium-clad timber window system from Glas Facades is said to bring high performance and sustainability to the commercial market at an affordable price.
The Glas Vision 3000 range combines an aluminium outer profile with solid timber internally, in a natural or painted finish. BFRC Window Energy Ratings in bands A to C have been achieved by using different glazing combined with the window's own airtightness reading.
The range is also claimed to score high for sustainability. All of the timber used is PEFC certified, while up to 70 per cent of the aluminium is recycled. This, combined with low inherent u values, makes then suitable for carbon neutral, zero carbon and PassivHause developments.
Four timbers are available Finished Pine, Natural Pine, European Oak and Canadian Pine.
