Manse Masterdor Ltd Ready to swing

Masterdor door sets have been installed in prefabricated pods at a housing development in Manchester. The pods were all pre-installed with doors, windows and kitchens and then delivered to site where they were installed to form the ground and first floor structures.

Spectus Systems Limited Aluminium Tread Strips

Two aluminium tread strips have been added to Spectus' range of accessories. The strips provide additional protection to the frame profile upstands at the threshold. The product is available in silver and gold anodized and in both ovolo and bevelled versions to perfectly match the profile to which they are attached.

Mumford & Wood Ltd Windows are crowing glory

Doors and windows from the Mumford & Wood Conservation range have been specified for a prestigious new-build project on Oxshott's Crown Estate, Surrey. The company use only premium quality, engineered and knot free natural timber for strength and stability, and supply only fully factory finished, double glazed doors, windows and doorsets. In this project a combination of small and large panel classic Georgian designs have been used in both sash and casement windows, to all floors and aspects. Semi circular fixed lights were used over casements and doorsets to lend a classic aesthetic to the orangery. All Mumford & Wood products are supplied on site with three coats of factory-applied water-based microporous paint, or stain, for reduced maintenance.

Spectus Systems Limited Cream to match stone

Spectus is now offering its Elite 70 range of PVC-U profile in a through coloured cream finish. The cream profile is ideal for the new build housing and refurbishment markets across the whole country, although its has particular appeal in counties such as Yorkshire and Gloucestershire where stone is a common building material. Elite 70 cream can also be used with conservatories.

The Endurance door range from Rocal has a unique 48mm thick solid LVL core, making it suitable for the majority of 70mm window systems. The doors are available in a range of colours plus Rosewood, Mahogany and Oak woodgrain effects.

Leaderflush & Shapland Doors for a brighter future

Eighty five crown cut maple doorsets from Leaderflush Shapland were specified for a purpose-built children's home in Worcester. The high performance characteristics of the doorsets, such as fire resistance and acoustic control, were essential elements of the specification. Nicholas Tweddell, project architect, said 'I really feel the building has benefited from such a high quality product, the geometry has made some fascinating views.'

Rehau Ltd Curtains and windows combine

The Polytec 50 composite curtain walling from Rehau has been combined with S706 windows in a development for Laing Homes. The circular facetted rotunda and stairwells were fabricated and installed using the Polytec 50 after it was chosen as a cost effective and contemporary alternative to aluminium. The product has the strength of the steel core and is low maintenance.

Andersen Windows Not too hot, but not too cold

The Woodwright made to measure sliding sash window from Andersen is said to be the natural eco friendly choice for builders wanting to combine traditional design with a commitment to the environment. Woodwright windows incorporate Fibrex, a sustainable composite material made from 50% recycled waste. A patented blend of reclaimed pine wood fibre bonded and a specially formulated thermoplastic polymer, this material delivers the strength, rigidity and thermal performance equal to wood. Design features include a choice of popular pine, oak, maple and pre-finished white interior finishes. Exterior colours include a choice of white, Sandtone, Terratone (an earth colour) and forest green.

The product, from Leaderflush Shapland, is a biocidally proactive solvent-free wood lacquer, killing most species of bacteria including C.diff, MRSA, Salmonella and E.coli.

Jeld Wen UK Sliding doors

The Ledbury sliding hardwood patio door from Jeld-Wen has been upgraded with Low-E glazing, which means it is now more thermally efficient. The option of performance-enhancing factory finishes, including Hi-build stains and a white painted finish, have also said to contribute to its popularity in ensuring a long life with low maintenance.
