Paint manufacturer, Jotun Paints (Europe) Ltd’s Jotaplast high performance coating has been specified for the BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear. The company told Building Products magazine the news came as Jotun was signed up as a BALTIC B.Partner sponsor following the decision to establish its Decorative Division in Newcastle upon Tyne. However, rather than provide a financial donation Jotun has agreed to give several thousands of pounds worth of paint in-kind to the arts’ centre over the coming year for on-going repair and refurbishment work. The move initially sees Jotun supplying direct from its Flixborough factory over 500 litres of Jotaplast high quality, impact resistant, one-coat white matt.

A £2.2 million construction project in the West Midlands has benefitted from two of Kingspan Insulated Panel' products. Kingspan's KS1000 LP Lo-Pitch has been used for the roof and KS1000 LS Longspan for the wall cladding on a large new laundry for Zip Textiles. Based just two miles from Birmingham city centre, the building has more than doubled production space for Zip, a supplier of linen and workwear to hotels and restaurants. The company was reported to have had a number of stipulations for their new base including low maintenance and sustained performance in high humidity conditions.

Terca is confident that its latest products, the Windmill Golden Multi and the Windmill Orange Multi are set to become as quintessential to the British landscape as their name suggests. The company says that, just like windmills, the two new bricks are highly sustainable. Named after the location of the factory on Windmill Lane in Denton, the Windmill Golden Multi features a mixture of rough and smooth textures with soothing warm tones. The company told Building Products magazine that the new products have been developed following research into the house building market in the North of England and Scotland, which revealed that softer tones are required, especially on high density developments. The ISO14001 accredited Denton factory (the first factory in the world to achieve this) is renowned for its environmental credentials so both bricks are manufactured using high levels of recycled material, making them the ideal choice for house builders looking to reduce their environmental impact.

Ventrolla Ltd Ventrolla upgrade and renovate Georgian sash windows at Grade ll listed house

Window renovation specialist Ventrolla, has upgraded and renovated Georgian sash windows at a Grade II listed house on the Essex coast. Warner's Hall in Burnham-on-Crouch has undergone a major refurbishment by the owner, Neil Kennedy. Ventrolla upgraded the wooden sash windows using its own Perimeter Sealing System, which has been tested to Class £ of the British Standard, equivalent of winds of 71mph. Mr Kennedy said: 'I can't believe the improvements the Ventrolla system has made to both the performance and appearance of these windows. It is truly remarkable considering the windows are single glazed.'
