Kingspan Insulation Product of the month |
 Insulated panels are said to be making a massive impact at a 'jumbo' warehouse space in Britain's largest Enterprise Zone.
Over 30,000m of KS1000 RW Trapezoidal and KS900 MR Micro Rib roof and wall panels from Kingspan Insulated Panel was used to create the building envelope for the large warehouse on the 85 acre Brookfields Park development site in Rotherham.
The warehouse covers 1.1 million square feet within two linked buildings. The buildings will occupy a self-contained site of nearly 50 acres and will be used by Next as an additional distribution hub for its 450 stores.
RPS Burks Green was responsible for the design of the £50m building. Stephen Oakden said: 'We specified the panels because the solution is proven and we were confident that the panels would achieve both the statutory and clients insurance requirements.

Coram Showers Walk-in to the enclosure |
 The latest addition to Coram Showers' Acora range is a walk-in shower enclosure which the company says has been developed in order to offer a 'stylish, contemporary design which maximises the showering area.'
The enclosure has been designed for both left and right hand installation, which makes stocking and installation much more straightforward.
The walk-in enclosure cawn be installed in both corner and alcove situations. Coram markeitng manager Charles Wallis said: 'The biggest problem with many walk-in enclosures currently on the market is that they are difficult and complicated to fit.
'Also some have needlessly small showering areas resulting from the inclusion of a drying area.
'Our new walk-in enclosure has been specifically designed to address these issues'.

Forticrete Ltd |
 In order to meet local planning requirements and blend in with the prevailing character Forticrete's Anstone and cast stone products have been employed at a housing development in Crich, Derbyshire.
The detached houses are primarily built of Anstone Olde Heather Black walling stones with a pitched finish. The pitched finish is rough with a distinctive raised centre, typical of traditional quarry-dressed stone.

Pilkington Architectural Window to secure hospital |
 What has been described as an extraordinary window solution for secure hospitals has been developed using Pilkington Activ self-cleaning glass as a major component.
The SafeVent Window was developed by fabricator BRITplas after being approached to develop a window that would provide an appropriate level of security whist retaining the appearance and general performance of conventional windows.
The window has an in-line horizontal sliding action which allows up to 50% of the window area to open without the need to for hinges, locking points, levers or handles that may be used as ligature points. It is said to have an easy sliding action to allow use by frail patients while also preventing use as a ligature point.
The SafeVent's open area is covered with a sheet of stainless steel punched with holes to make a mesh. Although it sounds austere it is claimed to be surpisingly discreet. The mesh prevents escape and the passing of contraband.

 Described as a robust flow control device, Flowloc has been introduced by Marley Plumbing and Drainage into its Waterbloc stormwater management range.
Used as part of an attenuation scheme, Flowloc controls the rate at which water is discharged to a surface water or drain or watercourse, ensuring compliance with the outflow rates usually set by the authorities.

ICI Dulux Trade Long finish at Butlers Wharf |
 In order to ensure a long lasting finish, whatever the weather Dulux Trade from ICI Paints was specified as a part of the Butler's Wharf exterior maintenance programme. The high rise development is situated on the River Thames, so a durable finish was essential. Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint was recommended for the exterior render. Providing up to 15 years protection, the formulation is claimed to offer optimum protection, creating a finish that looks better for longer. Shower resistant within 30 minutes means that exterior decoration can take place on changeable days.

Kingspan Insulation Cool study place |
 The installation of an air ducting system from Kingspan Insulation is aiding relaxation at Bunel University's refurbished student union building. Koolduct, the company's pioneering pre-insulated ducting system, was installed as part of a £10 million upgrade. The product is said to be lightweight, easy to work with and easy to install. The system comprises rigid phenolic insulated panels with a proprietary jointing system.

Neaco Dual role clinches a college specification |
 he two roles performed by Neaco's Techdeck aluminium open grille system is said to be the main reason behind its specification at a new-build sixth form college in Sheffield.
Techdek has been installed on the ground floor to provide a security screen whilst providing another role as sunshading.
'We selected Techdek when realised that by installing it vertically and with appropriate fixings, it could as both security screen and louvre,' said a spokesman for Ellis Williams architects. 'It is also very neat and is corrosion-resistant for a durable installation'.
Techdek is claimed to be a versatile product that is suitable for a large number of other applications including staging, decking, ventilation grilles, balustrade infills and roof access walkways.

Kawneer UK Ltd It's curtains for the Mercury |
 Curtain walling from Kawneer is said to have transformed the first building to revamped as part of the regeneration of Leicester's new business quarter.
The city centre headquarters of the region's leading daily newspaper, the Leicester Mercury was originally framed and clad in concrete but was llooking tired and performing inefficiently.
Franklin Ellis Architects specified Kawneer's horizontally-capped curtain walling utilising a special feature cap and concealed vents for the majority of the £12 million, 15-month refurbishment which involved the recladding of the building.
