Remmers (UK) Ltd Remmers resin floor solution

Remmers 6mm Floormix screed was the perfect solution to Lafarge cement laboratories search for a tough, durable and cost effective flooring. The coloured aggregate and epoxy resin floor was installed throughout the laboratories in Derbyshire. Remmers Floors say the Floormix screed was developed to give a hard wearing, slip-resistant, durable and easily cleaned water-proof finish. In the past, the company said, previous industrial and vinyl sheet flooring laid in changing rooms and washing areas were being destroyed within six months.

Resdev Ltd

Resedev's high performance screed flooring system have been installed at the Chassis Systems site in Telford. Resdev said the installation provides 'a robust and attractive solution capable of withstanding hostile conditions in production and industrial wash areas." The area is used for the manufacture of the T5 Chassis for Land Rover. The project was completed within a two week window.

F Ball & Co Ltd Rapid flooring in half a day

F.Ball and Co was able to complete installation of floorcovering in a hospital x-ray department in near record time of just half a day. The installation at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley was carried out by Base Flooring Solutions using F.Ball and Co's Stopgap 100 ultra rapid-drying floor smoothing underlayment. Base Flooring said it chose both the Stopgap 300 heavy-duty underlayment and the Stopgap 100 Rapid to ensure speed of working. Base Flooring's John Gavin said: "The fact that the contract was finished on time is largely due to the use of F.Ball's quick drying screeds." The products are now being specified in the Hospital Departments specifications that it sends out.

Cemex Precast Products ReadyFloor beam and Block flooring system

CEMEX has supplied its ReadyFloor Beam and Block flooring system for the refurbishment of an old Welsh theatre. The Arad Goch Theatre Company needed a new premises. So when an adjacent building became available, a project to develop a contemporary theatre began. ReadyFloor pre-stressed concrete beams were used during the project.

Tremco Ltd Cruise control

The opening of the newly refurbished Southampton City Cruise Terminal included the installation of more than 4000m² of carpets and contract vinyl materials from Tremco Illbruck. The high moisture readings in the existing sub-floor areas were dealt with by Tremco Illbruck's Treadfast One Coat Universal damp-proof membrane.

A flooring installation service from Medway-based Total Floor Systems is the latest addition to the support package offered by the company to the nationwide iLevel service partner network and its housebuilder customers. As the performance, reliability and maintenance-free reputation of engineered wood flooring systems has grown across all housebuilding sectors, demand has increased to outsource the installation process, further streamlining build time on site. Typically, a housebuilder could use Weather Dek2 or Dek Shield protected floor panels from Puhoswood combined with iLevel Trus Joist Tls. Trust Floor Systems says it can deliver the complete support package to the iLevel service partners and its housebuilder customers.

Gerflor has revitilised its Tarasafe safety floorcovering range with the introduction of a new range of colours and themes. The extended palette of colours ensures Tarasafe's position in a marketplace where demand for HSE-compliant safety floorcoverings is growing steadily. Tarasafe creates the permanent slip-resistant finish by incorporating hard-wearing carborundum particles into the wearlayer. New colours are available in four colour collections: Urban, Spicy, Fresh and Natural.

Ardex UK Ltd Ardex provides solution for Daks

One of London's most revered luxury department stores, Daks on Old Bond Street, has undergone a redesign. The new-look store has been divided into areas for separate collections and the store boasts handcrafted panels of English Oak and suede lining. Flooring contractors, Hull Flooring, teamed up with Ardex UK, manufacturer of high performance flooring systems, to install 300m² of new floor coverings throughout the ground and first floor sales areas, and back of house locations. Ardex's Arditex NA, a low odour latex smoothing compound, was used to prepare the subfloors prior to installation of final floor coverings. Developed as a self-smoothing, protein free latex levelling compound, Arditex NA is ideal for use on virtually all substrates.

Polyflor Ltd Polyflor style at burns unit

Versatility, low maintenance, colour choice and a facility for inlaid decoration were key criteria for the floor coverings selected for the new Burns and Education Centre at Birmingham Children's Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The design team found exactly what they were looking for in the range availalbe from flooring specialist, Polyflor. Flooring contractor Stanmore Floors has installed a variety of shades from the Polyflor Mystique PUR range of low maintenance heavy duty sheet vinyls in wards and corridors, featuring brilliantly coloured insert geometric designs which mirror the unit's wall decoration. The designs were created via the Polyflor Expressions Design Service which uses computerised water jet cutting techniques to produce the shapes and styles.
