Ward Insulated Panels has promoted Helen Taylor to its External Sales Team as Area Sales Manager for North East England. Helen joined Ward in September 2004 working for the Internal Sales Team covering the south of the UK from its offices in Sherburn, North Yorkshire. Before joining the company Helen was sales and marketing manager for a business in Scarborough, her home town. Helen will be supporting and advising architects, contractors and specifiers on the range of Ward roof and wall systems
An impressive environmental record has won Terrapin a Business Excellence Award from the Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of Commerce.
The Environmental Award recognises achievements in recycling, waste reduction and related green initiatives.
Terrapin has implemented an environmental management system during the past year.
This includes a waste management policy to minimise the environmental impact of its Buckinghamshire factory and offices and site operations.
In addition, the Terrapin Green Team, formed in November 2006 and headed by MD Patrick Howlett White, directs environmental improvements throughout the entire business.

Electrical entrepreneur Peter Moule, of Chocbox fame is celebrating an exclusive distribution contract with GET, after securing investment from Dragon's Den. The deal was formalised before the show was aired.
Peter, who started out as an electrician at St Pauls Cathedral, took his electrical connections safety housing into the Den last year. He impressed 'Dragons' James Caan and Duncan Bannatyne enough to secure significant investment in his business.

British Precast has launched a challenging Sustainability Charter. Member companies have been invited to sign a series of commitments to improve their sustainability performance and profile.
At the launch event the initiative was welcomed by Paul King of the UK Green Building Council.
He said: "The charter would be used as an example by the council."
British Precast Chief Executive, Martin Clarke, said: "The charter was the next planned step in our sector sustainability strategy, 'More or Less.' He added: "We encourage all our members to sign up but at the same time advise that it is a serious decision needing full commitment ."

The 1.5 two-core enhanced cable is appropriate where risk assessments have been completed and there is an agreement that a softskin cable with a lower survival capability than a mineral insulated product can be installed.

The Olympic Delivery Authority has unveiled the design for the Olympic Stadium, the flagship venue for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The ODA also plan to start the construction ahead of schedule.
The 80,000 seat stadium will be the centre-piece for the 2012 Games, hosting the Opening and Closing ceremonies and the athletics events, converting down to a 25,000 seat permanent stadium after the Games. The main features of the stadium will be the sunken bowl design, catering pods and the cable supported roof.
