The strength of Lafarge Plasterboard's acoustic partitioning range has been demonstrated once again with a specified contact to supply all the drylining requirements for a new Cine UK complex currently being built in High Wycombe. The company has supplied its dBcheck sound resistant wallboard, 90mm Cormet C stud and Cormet Acoustic V Brace to drylining contractors BDL of Uxbridge. BLD have constructed twin frame cinema partitions using twin rows of Lafarge Y gauge 90mm Cormet C studs braced horizontally at 3m centres with acoustic V braces to provide stability. The dBcheck wallboard has then been fixed to the partition in multiple plasterboard layers in varying thicknesses of 12.5mm, 15mm and 19mm.

An MX finish passenger lift from Stannah has been installed into the newly refurbished Eastwood Park Theatre in East Renfrewshire. The 13 person lift is said to be a stylish, well lit car which complies with DDA requirements. The EN81-70 has features such as speech synthesisers, tactile push buttons and digital display units.

For the Savill Building, Windsor Great Park, the largest timber gridshell structure in the UK, two structural engineered timber elements from Finnforest have been incorporated into the system of interlocking larch laths and oak cladding. They play a key role in the support structure by connecting the gridshell to a steel perimeter tube ring and legs reaching the ground.

Pumpable natural hydraulic lime mortar from Easipoint provided the finish required for the restoration of walls surrounding Clithroe Castle in Lancashire's Ribble Valley. The mortar met the need for a traditional lime-based material and offered the advantage of gun-injection, which enabled the contractors to fill substantial voids in the stonework and joints up to 25mm wide. The walls, believed to date back to the 15th Century, had become overgrown with ivy, which was removed to reveal significant deterioration of the existing mortar. The repointing work is part of the first phase of improvements including paving and night-time illumination of the castle.

Yorkon's latest project was to extend the award-winning Jet Centre, which handles corporate aviation. The building has now been extended to create additional space for arrivals, office accommodation and facilities for aircraft engineers. The two-storey building, which is finished in the airport's corporate colours, now accommodates VIP arrival facilities, departure lounges and offices.
