Created by designer Terence Woodgate and produced by Marshalls Street Furniture, Stonelements is a new range of contemporary urban furniture made from high quality natural granite.

A housing development at Old Cantley near Doncaster featured a system to recycle all rainwater drained from the 311m? of roof area for re-use for toilet flushing, in the washing machine and more unusually in the dish washer.
This was achieved through a specially designed collection and redistribution system centred round a 7,500 litre capacity Eco-Vat system from Polypipe Building Products.
The GRP unit which is said to be totally resistant to corrosion, was buried in the rear garden of the house with only the plate-surface of the tubular 'conning' tower at lawn level to provide ready access to the internal plumbing and electrics.
The lightweight qualities of GRP were said to be invaluable since there was only a very narrow gap between the house and fence. Drained rainwater is piped from the gutters to the underground storage tank, filtered and then taken up to a header tank.
Following changes to Building Regulations, it is a requirement for suppliers to ensure that all hardware making up a fire doorset has the required certification including CE marking where applicable. This includes bathroom locks which, for the first time, can be CE marked

An extensive refurbishment programme to improve ageing flats on the Tarling Estate in London's Tower Hamlets has benefitted from facade systems develop by Alumasc.
The brick-built properties were overclad with Swisslab, the company's traditional insulated render system, which provides good levels of insulation. 50mm phenolic insulation was used which was then rendered, partly with Alumasc's M.R.S7 dashing render, partly with M.R.S4 plain polymer, and was then finished with the company's specialist M.R.6 masonry paint.
The ThermoPlan system and Pavaclad and Diffutherm timber frame building systems from NBT have each achieved an 'A' rating in the BRE's Green Guide to Housing Specification.
NBT's 365mm deep ThermoPlan system, finished with lime cement plaster externally and plaster and paint internally, scored 1.2 Ecopoints.

A new centre designed as a showcase for self-builders has chosen Thinsulex - believed to be the UK's only multi-foil to be BBA certified and part L compliant - as the recommended insulation material.
The Earthwise Resource Centre based in Hastings, East Sussex provides materials and information on how to best build and live for the future in an environmentally friendly way.
Gary Gates, of Earthwise, said: "We are only displaying materials we are convinced can meet the requirements of sustainable building for the long term and Thinsulex is one of those.
"We want to help people understand the benefits of using these materials in timber-framed houses and that together they can make a warm, energy-efficient, cost-effective home."
"We have found Thinsulex fits in perfectly and we are using it on four new timber frame house builds."
Approved by LABC and accepted by NHBC, Thinsulex is a thin, flexible insulation which relfects infra-red radiation.
