Eternit UK Ltd Restoring historic properties to former glory |
 Three historic properties in Wilmslow have been restored to their former glory after the use of Marley Eternit's clay tiles.
Specifiers chose Marley Eternit's single chamber Acme clay plain tiles to create an authentic look for the 19th century half-timbered mansion house, coach house and small cottage on Stanneylands Road, overlooking the River Dean.
Brian Hughes from developers, Eatonfield said: "Our in-house design team specified Acme clay tiles because we wanted to achieve the visual appeal of a traditional roof with ease of fitting and time-efficiency.
"With this development, our aim was to extend and refurbish the properties in a manner befitting their location in protected woodland, so we wanted to choose a roofing material that blended in with both the natural and historic surroundings."

James Hardie Building Products Ltd Historic victory for Hardieplank |
 fter a lengthy appeal procedure, the Central Inspectorate has ruled that a 300 year old cottage can keep its James Hardie HardiePlank fibre cement-based exterior wall cladding solution.
After previous objections by Maldon Council and a directive to remove the product, the owners were forced to call in the Inspectorate. A thorough examination and evaluation process followed. After which it over ruled the council by deciding that HardiePlank's aesthetic and durable qualities make it an ideal choice for replacing the two external walls concerned.

Ornate Interiors Fibrous plastering specialist Ornate Interiors |
 The Round Foundry, an award winning listed business venue in Leeds, has undergone a £30 million phased regeneration and conservation scheme, which involved the adaptive ruse of a number of buildings n the site. Contractors William Birch and architects Building Design Partnership chose traditional and fibrous plastering specialist Ornate Interiors to carry out the work.

Lochinvar Ltd Lochinvar has been installed in the newly refurbished spa training facility. |
 An LBF balanced flued water heater from Lochinvar has been installed in the newly refurbished Devonshire Spa training facility at the University of Derby's campus in Buxton, Derbyshire.
The boiler and water heater manufacturer supplied the university with 160-LBF water heater to provide a hot water supply for the hand-wash facilities and showers. David Pepper, MD of Lochinvar, said: 'We are delighted to have been chosen for this historical and prestigious facility.

Sill Lighting Roman baths lit sympathetically |
 The Heritage Services section of Bath & North East Somerset Council has specified Sill lighting at the Roman Baths in the city of Bath. Heritage Services managers needed to replace expired lighting and to conserve energy while at the same time improving interpretation and making a visit to the site a more dynamic experience.
Designers at Sill used the company’s 020 series projectors, which are compact in size and can be used to produce different optical distributions.

Plastic Extruders Ltd Trouble at mill is averted |
 he Frontrunner entrance flooring system from Plastic Extruders is fronting the new retail branding by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill, complete with integral logo.
Frontrunner Plus matting is designed with integral absorbent insets within a heel-proof vinyl grid. This combination will scrape, clean and dry shoes while any dirt remaining falls through the grid and is not transferred inside. The matting can be trimmed easily on site to fit any shape, such as within a revolving door. Its flexibility means it will contour over uneven or rough surfaces, while remaining stable underfoot, and it is fully compliant with the DDA.

Triton Chemicals Isola platon cavity drain membranes |
 Isola Platon cavity drain membranes from Triton Chemicals have been used to waterproof the the basement at Bladon Lodge, part of the Blenheim Palace estate.
To control future ingress of water, the contractors installed Isola Platon's BBA approved 'sealed system'. This involved fitting Platon Multi cavity drain membrane to all basement walls and the vaulted ceiling, whilst Platon P20 membrane, with its deeper stud profile and higher drainage capacity, was laid to the floors.

Tremco Ltd Cruise control |
 The opening of the newly refurbished Southampton City Cruise Terminal included the installation of more than 4000m² of carpets and contract vinyl materials from Tremco Illbruck. The high moisture readings in the existing sub-floor areas were dealt with by Tremco Illbruck's Treadfast One Coat Universal damp-proof membrane.
