Eurocell Profiles has won the prestigious Derbyshire Business Awards. The Alfreton-based company was announced the winner from a shortlist of four finalists at a gala dinner at Chatsworth House. Eurocell impressed the judges with the way it managed to expand its business in an increasingly competitive market. Despite a general downturn in the market of 5.4 percent, Eurocell managed to increase its turnover by 10 per cent for 2005 - 2006. The company said last years performance was founded on 12 years of consistent growth.
Building envelope and solar energy products specialist, Schüco International, has installed aluminium curtain walling and window systems for a newly constituted primary school in South Wales. The systems were installed in a new building purpose-designed by Caerphilly Borough Council Architects Department.
GAP has invested over £125,000 in streamlining its door panel factory.
The company has bought a purpose-built Cannon Shelley vacuum forming line as well as cooling and water pumps. The vacuum former moulds door panel skins and will increase the efficiency and capacity by up to 33%.

Made from GRP using Stormking's own closed mould resin transfer technology, the cills are lightweight yet extremely robust and durable. The company says the new reproduction stone cills are exceptionally quick and easy to fix and are available in Portland, Bath and York finishes.
They are designed to be face fixed, using all weather adhesive, after brick render work has been completed. The new cills are also said to be suitable for all weather site working and for all types of construction.
Stormking's reproductions stone cills are made to customer size specifications from a range of standard sizes and Stormking also offer a full take off service if required.

London's Buckle Street, E1, is the location of a new five story luxury apartment block designed by Osel Architecture for client MiNC City Reach. The site was hand picked for being ideal for City professionals and those wanting to be close to central London. Osel's brief was to provide bright, airy modern accommodation. The use of high-spec acoustic glazing was also used to emphasise the property's sound insulation and desirability with the architect maximising the light into each apartment.
As part of the project, fabricators, BSF supplied and installed Metal Technology's high performance System 5-20 story height composite windows, including some side-hung opening lights, as the main glazing element, with blue/grey aluminium panels to the lower panes.
