In order to cope with increasing demand, production of composite products has been doubled by PVC-U door maker Rockdoor's.
Sales director Mark Simm said: 'Rockdoor is specifically designed for the domestic retail market. It is the only solid PVC-U door available.
Not only is it an aesthetically pleasing door with features of traditional timber doors, it is also an extremely long lasting and secure door. It is time for installers to see the benefits of installing composite doors before it is too late.
Mr Simm claimed that homeowners now want a door which makes a statement, looks good, offers high security, energy efficiency and is low maintenance.
The newly opened Turnbridge Day Nursery in East Cowick, near Goole, features PVC-U windows throughout, manufactured by trade fabricator Euroglaze in REHAU's S706 70mm profile.
A mix of casement, screen and French doors have been installed in the prestigious, purpose-built premises which provides day care for children. The installation is REHAU Golden Oak foiled profile on white throughout to match the old style brick stock used for the building.
Because safety and security was obviously an overriding consideration at the nursery, the windows have been fitted with tamper proof locking mechanisms and trickle ventilation.

Engineered from knot-free clear timber with a robust 54mm door leaf thickness for enhanced security and thermal performance the doorsets are available in five styles. They are supplied with a timber preservative system and a choice of performance-enhancing base stain or full factory finishing.

When a Pittsburgh-based residential care home wanted to extend its premises to accomodate a swimming pool enclosure, it decided to look across the Atlantic - eventually specifying Sash UK to supply a two storey conservatory as part of its joint venture with VEKA, Blue Diamond Conservatories.
The 38m long and 18m wide conservatory has to be painstakingly pre-built on the shop floor, with the components assembled to ensure that the construction meets all design requirements. Once done, the structure will be shipped to America to be erected in October 2007.
