A semi-transparent mirror made from the metamorphis glass "Mirona" from Schott has been fitted to the tables in a BMW conference room. A total of 40 m² of Mirona was installed at the front of the tables, and conference monitors hidden behind. The mirror is covered in an extremely thin, titanium oxide coating. In front of a dark surface, the mineral glass acts as a mirror, however once the monitor is turned on, the glass provides a clear view of the screen.

When Sheffield Hallam University's Centre for Sport and Excercise Science was looking for an unobstrusive method of suspending a number of it exhibits at a recent international exhibition in Beijing, it called on Sheffield-based Gripple. Each Gripple hanger comprises a length of steel wire rope, a patented self-locking device to adjust the free end, a setting key and a choice of end fixings. The company donated the hangers, which were used to suspend a range of sporting equipment at the Beijing Sports Science Exhibition. Dr David James from the centre, said: 'One of my colleagues once worked at Gripple and had seen first hand the total versatility of Gripple hangers, which were quickly and easily installed and complemented our exhibits perfectly.'

The rising price of hardwood lippings has led Jeld-Wen to makeover its real wood veneered internal and paint grade veneer faced doors. The lippings along the long edges have been removed, which will allow US manufacturer Jeld-Wen to keep the doors at a competitive price, and eliminate the problem of shrinkage and expansion, which has sometimes resulted in hairline cracks appearing between the lipping and the door face. The absence of these cracks will result in a significant improvement in the overall appearance of the installed product. The changes bring the doors in line with much of the European and US door industry.

The installation took place overnight, so that the shop could be open for its trading day the next day, and with no wholesalers open during the night the contractor specified a trouble-free installation. The air curtains feature a dual flexibility option of dual or recess mounting for one model.
