British Museum gets cool - Durapipe

British Museum gets coolDurapipe has been called upon to keep record numbers of visitors cool, when the British Museum houses an exhibition of the Terracotta Army. This increase in visitor numbers necessitated an upgrade of the current air conditioning system and the installers specified 110m of Durapipe SuperFlo. Ashley Pusey, project manager, said: 'Unlike steel piping, Durapipe SuperFlo is light and so is easier to lift and control on site. Part of the pipework in this project involves a vertical run, which needed scaffolding to install it. The lightweight system made the installation faster, easier and safer.'

Energy efficient cooling - EcoCooling Ltd

Energy efficient coolingEcoCooling evaporative coolers are being used in leisure centres to provide cool and comfortable conditions at a fraction of the running cost of traditional air conditioning. The use of EcoCoolers also means that there is a constant supply of fresh air to remove stale air and maximise oxgen levels for the more demanding aerobic activities. Wycombe Leisure manages 20 leisure centres for Oxfordshire Council and have installed systems at Chipping Norton and High Wycombe. At High Wycombe the EcoCooling system was designed to introduce a high internal air change rate to reduce odours and also minimise the influx of warm humid air from the swimming pool. In Chipping Norton the excessive cost of air conditioning and a move towards more environmentally friendly products prompted the move to evaporative cooling.
