Illuminated using LED fittings from the Lights Project Group, a spire on the Chapelfield Shopping Centre in Norwich uses KIM CFL Colour Changers to light the semi-transparent void with Ledstar 3 LEDs at each intersection point in the surrounding helix.
At night a selection of programmed colour schemes are selectable which include the selection of the seasons, the equinox, Christmas and the Norwich FC colours.
The company claims that the LEDs used in the CFL Colour Changer emit approximately 40 times more light that conventional LEDS and have a 50,000 hr. life with low lumen depreciation. They contain no glass or mercury and feature shock and vibration resistance.
The driver unit mixes light output for each LED creating saturated colours. Full DMX control provides dimming, activation at any level and pulse switching.
