Fibre cement profiled sheeting from Marley Eternit has helped a farming family in Wales diversify its sheep farm into Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park.
The most recent addition to the park is a visitors' centre that is styled on a traditional farm barn but contains a gift shop, Wlsh ambience restaurant, indoor play area and an interpretative section.
The walls of the exposed steel-framed centre are brick and block and it is roofed with Marley Eternit's Profile 6 fibre cement sheeting, commonly used for livestock buildings, and lined with insulation board.
It's low-maintenance fibre cement substrate makes it resistant to the corrosive atmosphere on the coastline, while high vapour permeability allows any moisture collected by the sheets to dry out naturally.
