Controlling heat gain at a mixed used development situated off London's Oxford Street, Levolux's solar shading has been installed.
Glass was chosen for the walls, roof, floors and structure of the building, including a 'glass box', which forms part of the store's second and third floors.
A series of timber fins protect the buildings from solar heat gain whilst still ensuring natural light enters.Manufactured in Western Red Cedar, they created a horizontal canopy and run down the front of the south facing elevation. They are fitted via stainless steel pins through the supporting steel work of the building.
Sliding panels in the same finish were also applied, fitted to the exterior of the building.
