Water drainage of the paths at the Diana Memorial in Hyde Park has been achieved using a landscaping product from Addagrip.
The Addastone TP material was selected for its free draining properties and for its ability to use land drainage in the path foundations instead of conventional path drainage. It could also cope with slopes in the landform.
Surrounding the outside of the water foundation - made in Cornish granite - the surface was also specified for its colour. The dark tone of the colour matched the grass, providing a complementary aesthetic design. Contractors laid 840m? of the Addastone TP surface as well as fitting an aluminium restraining edge around the area.
The product was originally developed as a porous paving system for use around trees. It uses Addastone TP resin mixed with a graded chosen natural or recycled aggregate to provide a fully bound seamless surface without the associated problems of loose aggregate.
