An extensive refurbishment programme to improve ageing flats on the Tarling Estate in London's Tower Hamlets has benefitted from facade systems develop by Alumasc.
The brick-built properties were overclad with Swisslab, the company's traditional insulated render system, which provides good levels of insulation. 50mm phenolic insulation was used which was then rendered, partly with Alumasc's M.R.S7 dashing render, partly with M.R.S4 plain polymer, and was then finished with the company's specialist M.R.6 masonry paint.
Hydrotech from Alumasc is waterproofing some 5000m? of podium areas and roofs at Marks and Spencers new HQ in Paddington Basin. The product is a lightweight, self healing monolithic membrane made of modified bitumen, synthetic rubbers and antioxidants combined with reinforcement. The system has low temperature flexibility and is water resistant.
Built to a high specification near to the Houses of Parliament, a development of luxury apartments by Berkeley Homes features Architectural Rainwater Systems from Alumasc.
Guardian aluminium security pipes were fitted to the front elevation and used in conjuction with GX Gutters and Skyline Coping.
Flushjoint, a range of circular, square and rectangular rainwater pipes, were used with Harmer roof outlets on the rear of the building.
Guardian is a flush fitting architectural feature downpipe for security environments. Designed to be impossible to climb and resistant to high impact damage, it does not need sockets or pipe clips.
The GX gutters are robust, fully engineered, pressed aluminium box gutters, available in three profiles. The systems are designed for wet-joining on site and are suited to applications where maximum capacity is required.
