Of particular benefit to listed and heritage buildings, the new Pre-Finished Heritage Cast Iron range of rainwater goods has been launched by Alumasc. The range is specifically aimed at projects where rainwater solutions are crucial.
Aside from being factory applied with a three-coat finish which helps eliminate the need for on-site painting, the range boasts no "awkward wall-hugging bends and backs of downpipes, no multiple coasts, no bad weather hold ups, just a quick and easy installation that will cut the cost of scaffold hire" according to the line's manufacturer.
The range comes in a choice of traditional styles to facilitate easy matching with existing rainwater goods. It includes half round ogee, beaded half-round and moulded gutters, and round, square or rectangular downpipes with original socket joints which should ensure that "every demand for an authentic and attractive system can easil;y be met.
To provide an integrated roof solution, Armaseam standing seam roofing, ZinCo Green Roof technology, and Skyline Fascia/Soffits have been supplied by Alumasc for the roof of the Sixth Form and Gymnasium Block at St Martin in the Fields girls school. The standing seam profiled sheet acts as the waterproofing substrate beneath the ZinCo green roof. A covering is produced with no penetrative fixings or vulnerable joints.
