Arch Timber Protection and Vincent Timber together played a key role in the completion of a timber and glass house in Dulwich, featured in a recent episode of the Channel 4 TV programme Grand Designs.
The development highlightsthe versatility and warmth of the timber and shows an 'innovative use of wood construction within a traditional suburban setting'. It also combined two of Arch's key products, Dricon fire retardant and the Restol coating system in a single project. The Western Red Cedar with full chain of custody certification was also used for its good insulation and potential for energy saving. All wood supplied from sustainable source, was fully certified through Vincent Timber's BM TRADA approved system.
The developer said: 'Cedar's inherent beauty and the subsequent appeal of the houses lies in its finish so we are very keen to treat it correctly.'
