Industrial standard for research facilities
An industrial flooring system solution has been provided by Ardex for a new Cancer Research UK building.
The new institute is housed on the Li Ka Shing Centre on the Cambridge Bio-Medical Campus site.
For levelling the floor, the Ardex SD-T and R 30 E topping and coating system was installed. The 2000m area designated for future use as laboratories, received a pumped application of Ardex SD-T to give a fluid, rapid drying, self levelling mortar which provided a hard, smooth and flat surface prior to the application of R 30 E Water-based Epoxy Coating. Developed to provide an easy to clean surface R 30 E has adhesion to concrete, screeds and other substrates.
