Sound insulation from a single source

Ash & Lacy Building Systems Sound insulation from a single sourceInstalled as part of a modern language centre and music block extension at the Forres Academy School in North East England is an Ashzip standing seam roofing system. Considering that the extension includes a music block, the product's inherent acoustic performance was important. It can be enhanced with the use of a perforated liner sheet used in conjunction with an absorptive insulation layer to control reverberation and reduce unwanted sound. The company offers a total roof envelope solution from a single source. This recognises that performance is compromised unless components such as gutters and perimeter details are not to the same standard as the roofing.

Ash & Lacy Building Systems Midlands School fans out refurbishment using curved and tapered roofing systemsRequiring a system that could be curved on plan and section areas for the refurbishment of a Midlands school, Anglo Holt Construction specifed Ash & Lacy's Ashzip standing seam roofing system. Over 1500m of Ashzip 400 in stucco embossed plain mill aluminium was employed, with some 3700m of curved sheets produced on site using the company's mobile roll forming unit. Curved roofs were installed on the drama building and sports hall, while the learning resource centre featured tapered sections constructed using segmented profiles to create a fan-effect which curved both ways.
