On Monday 22 May Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal visited BRE at its headquarters in Watford. The visit followed a question from HRH as to why there are so few women in science, engineering and technology. Carol Atkinson, managing director of the BRE's LPCB spoke to HRH about the centre's efforts to encourage females into the industry, and HRH met some female scientists and saw examples of their work.
