An intumescent lacquer system has been launched by Becker Acroma. Certified to provide a Class 0 upgrade, PyroLac PrO offers a smooth finish. It is a fire retardant system formulated for use on new interior wood. It is suitable for wood panelling and can be used on interior doors, staircases and other areas. The system was tested by Warrington Fire Research and has been certified to meet BS 476 Part 6 Flame Propagation Class 0, upgrading and maintaining, as well as BS 476 Part 7 Class 1 Surface Spread of Flame. Three products comprise the system: a basecoat, a clear lacquer, and an acid catalysed flame resistant lacquer.
