Believed to be the only company to offer its complete range of lintels hot-dip galvanised, Birtley Building Products has introduced a new super lintel specifically for highly corrosive environments. An alternative to stainless steel, the Supergalv Ultra 2000 lintels have a zinc coating on all surfaces of 140 microns, compared to the usual 19 t 42 micron offered by pre-galvanised products on top and bottom surfaces only. With a typical atmospheric corrosion rate of 1.0 microns per annum, this increases the life expectancy of the lintel from 42 to 140 years, the company claims.
