Easier installation of services is offered with the bespoke pre-cut holes that now feature in BCI Joists from Boise Building Products. The joists already come with pre-stamped 38mm dia. knock-out holes at 302mm centres, but the advantage of the pre-cut holes is that they can be bigger. Typical sizes are 125mm circles and 125 x 300mm rectangles. They can then be carefully aligned across the floor, making them suitable for situations where copper piping, soil pipes or ventilation ducting is required.
