The production line at the Kingspan Insulation factory is now more comfortable following the installation of the Breezair Evaporative Cooling System. Installed by specialist air movement company Spectrum Air Systems, the system has improved working conditions on the line by providing spot cooling for employees. Summer temperatures which used to get close to 30°C are now maintained at around 20 to 22°C at floor level. Ten Breezair units are supported on a simple roof upstand, connected to the roof z-purlins via a supporting h-frame. Installed around the factory to provide localised cooling, the units have introduced filtered air up to 6°C below ambient. They also humidify the air, providing a fresh feeling on an otherwise airless environment.
With temperatures at the top of its warehouse reaching 36?C, CPG Logistics has controlled the environment at its new distribution centre in Gosport with the Breezair evaporative cooling system. Meeting the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulation Agency) regulations on storing pharmaceutical products, the new system has reduced inside temperatures to 22?C, even on the hottest day. The evaporative cooling system covers all essential areas within the warehouse complex including the storage and packing environments. It has been configured so that the main ducts are directed into the packing areas and then flows down the aisles through vents to cover storage and picking areas. Although only installed on the first and second floors, on hot days the system also flows down to the ground floor to help reduce temperatures there as well.
