Brett Martin Ltd A series of Marvault HF rooflights have been installed on the roof of a renovated nineteenth century mill that forms part of Eskmills, a business park in Musselburgh near Edinburgh. The versatile barrel vault rooflight system with a spanning capacity of up to nine metres is made by Brett Martin Daylight Systems. Fixed to pre-prepared kerbs, each of the rooflights are 2.1m long and have a span of 1.4m. Marlon FSX Longlife 3mm solid clear polycarbonate was specified for both the inner and outer glazing to give a high level of direct daylight with an optical clarity similar to glass. The Marvault HF system has built-in drainage, is available in three height options and can be easily linked to form rooflights of any length.

These sheets are supplied with Superlife enhanced UV surface protection to minimise the effects of radiation. Translucent GRP rooflights were specified to provide an even distribution of daylight. Sheets are available in polycarbonate.

Brett Martin Ltd Landing with greater lightSpecified to provide daylight levels with controllable ventilation, a 16 bay hip ended rooflight from Brett Martin Daylight Systems has been appplied to a restaurant near Land's End. The product is fully compliant with part L of the Building Regulations and has two electrically operated top hung vents. The double-glazing comprises a 6mm toughened outer, 6.4mm 'Low E' inner with a 12mm argon-filled cavity in between. It is 10.8m by 3.8m in size and provides weather resistance and a fully water managed drainage system as standard.

With a roof span of 10.2m, the rooflight has 24 bays and is 26m long. A 10.2m mono-pitch rooflight is located at one end of the main rooflight. The products have a total of 20 electrically operated top-hung vents to provide controllable ventilation. Each of the vents has dual rack actuators with 500mm stroke to achieve a natural/smoke ventilation equivalent to 7.5% of the floor area. All of the glazing bars are polyester powder coated white and are 25mm thick.

The 8.6 by 2.6m wide, 11 bay rooflight has eight electrically operated top-hung vents to offer the benefits of controllable ventilation with good levels of daylighting. Double-glazed throughout in Grey tint 'Antisun' glass, the Ritchlight rooflight prevents glare whilst at the same time saving energy by reducing the need for artificial lighting and providing passive solar glare. The rooflight's thermally broken frame was manufactured using extruded aluminium sections that are dual coloured and polyester powder coated.

Sweeping round the Vauxhall end of the ground, the new four-storey stand provides seating for up to 14,500 spectators. Its rooflights are manufactured from 2mm thick Marlon CS Longlife clear polycarbonate with an embossed finish that reduces shadows, glare and reflection by diffusing the daylight evenly without reducing the near 90% level of light transmission. They feature a co-extruded uv-absorption layer which minimises the harmful effects of the sun. In this instance, a layer was co-extruded on both surfaces of the polycarbonate to further protect the sheets from discolouration.

The site assembled rooflights comprise Trilite 1.8 lining panels with Trilite 2.4 weather sheets to match the Plannja PA40/95 top sheet. Brett Martin Ltd Measuring 7.5m square, a Ritchlight pyramid rooflight has been installed by Brett Martin Daylight Systems at the indoor swimming pool at Beverley Park Holiday Centre in Paignton. It was specified primarily to provide higher levels of natural daylight with extra controllable ventilation. The glazing is 25mm translucent uv protected multiwall polycarbonate.
