The Killanin Stand at Galway Racecourse in west Ireland now has a cantilvered canopy roof thanks to a combination rooflighting solution from
Brett Martin Daylight Systems. The company's Xlok Ultra panel glazing soffit and Trillite Ultra 36 translucent GRP weather sheets were installed to create a natural light and to protect spectators from the elements, while withstanding exceptionally high Atlantic winds. The design team's solution was the aero wing shaped canopy roof with its panel glazed soffit and outer skin that curves front to back.
A series of Marvault HF rooflights have been installed on the roof of a renovated nineteenth century mill that forms part of Eskmills, a business park in Musselburgh near Edinburgh.
The versatile barrel vault rooflight system with a spanning capacity of up to nine metres is made by Brett Martin Daylight Systems.
Fixed to pre-prepared kerbs, each of the rooflights are 2.1m long and have a span of 1.4m. Marlon FSX Longlife 3mm solid clear polycarbonate was specified for both the inner and outer glazing to give a high level of direct daylight with an optical clarity similar to glass.
The Marvault HF system has built-in drainage, is available in three height options and can be easily linked to form rooflights of any length.
Dual and mono-pitch Xlok Ultra rooflights manufactured by Brett Martin Daylight Systems have been installed at a development in central Ireland.
With a roof span of 10.2m, the rooflight has 24 bays and is 26m long. A 10.2m mono-pitch rooflight is located at one end of the main rooflight.
The products have a total of 20 electrically operated top-hung vents to provide controllable ventilation. Each of the vents has dual rack actuators with 500mm stroke to achieve a natural/smoke ventilation equivalent to 7.5% of the floor area. All of the glazing bars are polyester powder coated white and are 25mm thick.
In a new ?3.8 million bus depot at Edmonton, walls in the garage and administration areas have been clad with 5mm thick grey Foamalux foam pvc from Brett Martin. The foam is Class 1 fire rated and resistant to chemical attack. Self coloured with a hard surface, it does not show scratches and can be bent, thermo-formed, or cut to shape and size with standard workshop equipment.
Five large circular Ritchlight TL17 framed dome rooflights have been installed to brighten the interior of the Knowledge Spa at Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.
Manufactured and installed by Brett Martin Daylight Systems, these 3m diameter triple skin rooflights are glazed with solid polycarbonate and supply natural daylight to the building's central atrium area.
The rooflights' aluminium frames and glazing bars were treated with a polyester powder coat finish - Dark Blue externally and Light Grey internally. Geometric calculations and drawings were produced for the glazing bars, kerb details and clamp frames required to form the series of polycarbonate segments.
The company's systems are fitted with a water managed drainage system as standard and can be powder coatedcoated to any RAL or BS colour.
