Installed to provide natural daylight along the central corridor of Sundorne Youth Centre?s Educational Centre in Shrewsbury, a 19.7m long Marvault double skin clear polycarbonate barrel vault rooflight from Brett Martin Daylight Systems is in use. The Marvault RL rooflight at Sundorne is mounted on a raised upstand at the crown of the curved Ash & Lacy stucco embossed aluminium standing seam barrel vault roof. Comprising 19 interconnected bays and spanning a width of 1.7m, the rooflight?s clear double skin polycarbonate glazing provides a light transmission of 81%. The rolled glazing bars are mill finish aluminium and the rooflight has manual control, pole-operated louvre vents with fly screens running along both sides of its length. Marvault RL modules can be lined to achieve any length and angles to create the desired curve. With a typical span capacity of up to 5m, they can also be used to create large area canopies for building entrances, cycle parking and external play areas.
