Applied at Preston Central Travelodge, SoundLay Plus by CMS Acoustics is an acoustic underlay system designed for timber floors, to insulate airborne and impact sound. The hotel is a converted mill requiring a reduction in noise transmission between rooms. Achieving airborne insulation of 49dB and impact insulation of 55dB, it is a composite sandwich layer with a thickness of 12mm.

Ensuring the new Paddington Central CrossRail deck remains structurally sound, CMS Vibration Solutions worked with Bryne Bros to recommend Regupol 6010BA, a heavy duty screed isolation solution which protects the concrete slab foundations from ground-borne vibrations. The product reduces high-impact noise and vibration from high loads as well as providing durability.

Working with LCL Development, CMS Acoustic Solutions has ensured a new build project conformed to Part E of the Building Regulations. The company recommended its SoundDeck, a Robust Standard Detail compliant resilient overlay shallow platform floor system. A development of 30 luxury apartments close to Albert Dock required a solution which attenuated sound at source. The durable overlay was specified as it is suitable for precast, beam and block floors.
