Five major projects in the Northampton area feature leading edge Russell concrete tiles in slate grey from Cemex.
Office developments at Talvera Way, Bedford Road and Grange Park have low-rise buildings with pitched roofs. The Galloway product offered a classic slate tile appearance with durability and speed of installation.
In contrast, two Wimpey Homes developments at Old Bedford Road and Newport Pagnell Road have a combination of adjoining pitched roofs terminating in a turret at each end of the main building.
The interlocking design of the Galloway accommodates varying levels of pitch whilst the apex of the turrets uses Cemex plain tiles in a matching colour.
An East Midlands re-roofing scheme has utilised Russell roof tiles from Cemex. The Cottage Red Lothian tiles have replaced Rosemary clay tiles in 20 dwellings. Manufactured using eco-friendly methods, requiring 40% less raw material than traditional plain tiles, it has a thin leading edge and features a matt finish in a colour palette of cottage red slate grey, black, terracotta, rustic peat and peat brown.
Specified to provide an 'all-round' solution, Cemex roof tiles now feature on homes maintained by Ashfield District Council as part of a project to bring all homes up to a decent standard. The refurbishment involved re-covering a proportion of the council's domestic housing stock. In total, Cemex supplied two million tiles from its Highland and Pennine ranges. The Highland tiles, supplied in terracotta red and anthracite, have a simulated centre joint, complementing the existing clay tiles on surrounding properties.
