Part of an eye catching construction, the entrance to The Hexagon, an assembly hall at Terethers School in Newquay, has been created using Comar Architectural Aluminium Systems? curtain walling and doors. The door entrance has been designed so that its both shaped on plan and elevation, create a focal point for The Hexagon. All sight lines are angled and shaped including the glazing; even the door handles were specially shaped for the installation. Comar 6 curtain walling was selected with high span mullions to create the long lines of the installation, while transoms helped create the angled horizontal lines. The curtain walling has specially extruded profiles so that Comar 7 doors can integrate directly into the curtain wall without the need for additional coupling profiles. A further advantage was the ability of Comar 6 to incorporate transoms closer to ensure the weathering of the project.
