Exit signs which offer low maintenance and long-life properties are now available from Cooper Lighting and Security. The Menvier Evolved range of LED products is fully compliant with the performance requirements of EN 1838 and provides maintained operation with a three hour duration. It can be specified as a self-contained unit or as a slave unit for use with static inverters. Operation is ensured by a 60,000 hour LED light source, which on the self-contained version is automatically monitored by an integral self-test facility. This facility uses light-measuring technology to verify the output of the individual LEDs during testing. Available in a choice of white or silver colour finishes, the exit sign has a screwless 'snap-together' design with a self-locking, clip-in legend panel for ease of assembly.

Expanding the Menvier range of emergency luminaires from Cooper Lighting and Security is a compact, low-profile luminaire that uses long-life LED technology to provide a low maintenance emergency lighting solution. The new Briteway product is optically engineered to provide maximum performance when mounted axially. It uses dual high-intensity LEDs and purpose-designed optical lenses to achieve directional control of the light and a distribution that is optimised for 1 lux illumination of defined escape routes. Light levels can be altered by a multi-function switch which also serves to initiate an automatically timed 10 second test.

As part of fire protection installed at Newcastle Cricket Centre, Cooper Lighting and Security has supplied reflective beam detectors to protect the indoor nets area. A series of reflective beam detectors are linked to the Menvier fire panel, which is interlinked to an existing fire panel in the main building nearby. If either panel goes into a fire position, alarms go off in both buildings and a signal is sent to a monitoring centre.
