Indoor sports facilities at the Blessed George Napier Catholic Secondary School in Banbury have had an acoustic solution from Corus Panels and Profiles installed.
Due to the internal volume of the building, regulations required for it to be air tight and provide a high degree of sound reduction through the walls.
The roof construction used 4500m? of the company's Colourcoat HPS 200 pre-finished steel in a three layer build-up consisting of R32/1000 roof panels, thermal insulation, plain lining panels, acoustic insulation and perforated lining panels. It was complemented by 950m? of wall cladding using Trisomet panels - a trapezoidal composite panel. Joints were sealed with tape to stop air passage through the sheets.
Some 15,000m² of Kalzip aluminium standing seam system has been used to provide a roofing solution on five schools in Glasgow as part of the Primary Pilot Schools programme, which aims to overhaul pre-secondary education facilities in the area. Phase one of the project is now complete and the five schools have been roofed with the Kalzip system, chosen to provide a durable and low maintenance roof that achieves the U-values required under Scottish building regulations.
