Redesigning the Base Shoe for its range of frameless glass balustrading, DR Services has met the criteria for CE marking.
With the new Base Shoe arrangement, it is possible to comply with 12mm glass, where before 15mm glass would have been required.
The company's GlassWedge allows for ease of installation without the use of cements and grips glass. Attachment can also be direct to the concrete by an aluminium base plate fixed to the concrete with M16 countersink bolts into a 100mm long resin socket. This suits concrete with a minimum depth of 120mm.
It can also be attached to weld blocks or welded to a steel substrate, as well as to a channel or angle from the side in a fascia mount.
Installing components at Roka restaurant in London, DR Services provided a number of glass products.
A full height wall was installed as well as a glass enclosure surrounding the dumb waiter, with two glass fronted display areas each 3m high and 6m wide of which one contains 60 glass shelves. Two fire glass surrounds enclose the stairs and the 3.2m high shop fronts comprise slide and stack walls, pivot door and panic escape doors to six openings.
