Simplicity of design and a unique style were the inspiration behind Dimplex's Girona premium glass-fronted panel heater.
The Girona's smooth front is aptly described as 'sophisticated yet understated' and complements the most fashionable designer surroundings.
For the energy conscious, the Girona comes in a choice of five outputs. These range from 0.5kW to 2kW, while an accurate digital thermostat keeps the room temperature steady to +/- 0.3 degrees celsius. The company claims the range provides no less than 70 per cent better air circulation than traditional panel heaters which means the heat circulates more quickly and effectively.
National pub chain, Slug and Lettuce, has been given a slick and sophisticated new look courtesy of a multi-million pound refurbishement and the introduction of Dimplex Optiflame's electric fires.
Leeds-based design specialists Plumtree Mee were appointed by Slug and Lettuce owners, the Laurel Pub Group, to re-design and oversee the management of an updated style for the chain's 50 plus branches.
Plumtree Mee, which specialises in the design of commercial environments, was looking for products that introduced extra 'life' to the interior of the pubs.
Designer Katie Stammers said: 'Retail environments are not only about function but also about fashion and that can be a challenging brief for us to fulfil. In the Slug and Lettuce we ensure not only that the products look good but also tha they will withstand the rigours of a busy environment and most importantly, be safe. Dimplex fires, for us, tick all these boxes.'
Energy efficient, low carbon heating is now taken for granted by the owners of a new build property in Scotland - as it's one of the first projects to secure funding from the Scottish Community and Householders Renewables Initiative for the installation of a Dimplex air source heat pump.
The air-to water heat pump stands on purpose-built slab at the side of the four-bedroom property and introduces an established and popular European technology to the UK. It operates by extracting heat from the ambient air temperature as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius.
When installed it is said to have worked instantly - raising the water temperature in the 300 -litre tank from seven degrees Celsius up to 50 degrees in less than an hour. Within three days, the heat pump was operating at full capacity, heating the domestic hot water and a delivering a room temperature of 22 degrees with the help of an underfloor heating system.
Offering an air-stream in applications such as warehouse doors, factory loading bays, and distribution centres, the new Dimplex IAB range of industrial air curtains allows day-to-day business to continue unhindered by creating an 'invisible' curtain of air to separate internal and external environments.
By separating these two adjoining zones, the running costs of a busy facility can be reduced and the working environment improved. The IAB range can be specified in one metre or 1.5m widths, and multiple units can be linked together to cover wider doorways. All models can be installed up to six metres in height.
Heat pumps from Dimplex have been installed at the Aberdulais Falls National Trust site in Wales.
One of the company's LA20AS air to water heat pumps was installed, which draws energy needed by the underfloor heating system from the ambient air.
Power to drive the heat pump is supplied by a hydro-electric water turbine, which allows the entire heating system to be sustainable and have zero carbon emission.
It is also planned that the system will also form part of the exhibition display.
Larger storage vessels have been added to Dimplex's SU and SUTP unvented water storage range. Now available in sizes from a compact undersink six litre unit up to a mid-range 75 litre model, they connect to the cold water mains supply for high flow rates and a quick recovery time. Stainless steel construction offers corrosion resistance with temperature selectable up to 68?.
Suitable for mounting internally or externally, the CXD range of radiant heaters from Dimplex has ceramic elements which operate at 700?C and provides long wave infra-red radiation. Vertical or horizontal in style, both models have a 2kW loading. An adjustable mounting bracket changes the direction of heat.
With changes to Building Regulations Part L putting an emphasis on controllable, energy efficient heating systems, the Dimplex DuoHeat radiator provides a solution to reducing carbon emissions.
Combining performance, controllability and a balance of off-peak and direct acting heating, the units provide improved levels of energy efficiency recognised by the Government's Standard Assessment Procedure for the energy rating of buildings.
Along with high levels of controllability, the product also has a proportion of its energy provided from off-peak electricity which reduces running costs and assists in improving the SAP rating score.
Built to withstand heavy duty use, the CFS range of wall mounted fans from Dimplex features durable elements and rigid corrosion-resistant cases. Available in 3kW and 6kW outputs, the CFS30 and CFS60 provide heat throws of 4.5m or 8m, while the models weigh either 7.6kg or 13.5kg respectively. A multi-directional wall bracket and remote control for settings both come as standard too.
Combining what the company describes as 'brains and beauty' Dimplex has launched a new range of electronic panel heaters with sleek designs and updated user controls. Suitable for use in either panel only installations or as a supplement to radiators, the EPX range is designed to complement the styling of the company's DuoHeat radiators, with a ribbed front detail for a co-ordinated look. Six models are available in the EPX range, with modular control options offering varying functions to allowing bespoke systems. The slimline design features a forward facing louvre grill, with gently curving sides and a ribbed front design.
Responding to demand for sustainable, low carbon heating solutions, Dimplex has launched a new range of heat pumps. The range includes ground source and air to water heat pumps, many suitable for single phase installation. It also includes a number of products, such as an 8kW 'Compact' air to water heat pump for internal installation that come in an 'all-in-one' package.
Designed as a discreet way to heat, the restyled Dimplex AC range of over door heaters allow out of sight installations near doorways or in ceilings. Available as a complete kit with wall mounted remote control, the 3kW heater can be installed or suspended in plasterboard ceilings. It requires a minimum ceiling space of 200mm.
Designed to provide commercial premises with high flow rates and economical running costs, Dimplex has introduced the DE range. The water heaters are suitable for application which require high volume hot water as they can provide unlimited water at temperatures between 38 and 60?C at the turn of a tap.
Wall-mounted water boilers from the Dimplex WB range provide a convenient and continuous supply of nearly boiling water. This unit is capable of providing at least 27 litres of water at 98°C/hr., the company claims. Units are designed for safety with non-drip taps and ?minimal? steam production, backed by automatic safety cut-outs in the event of water overheat or overfill. Other features include low voltage electronics and internal fault diagnostics.
Designed to overcome the problems of draught andair movement caused by large and frequently opening doors, Dimplex has launched a new range of ?draught busters?. There are six models in the DAB range which can effectively separate two different temperature zones, and is compatible with timers and door sensors.
