To prevent damage to the safety flooring beyond the entrance of St John's Hospital, Livingstone, the Emco three zone matting system was chosen. Adhering to the NHS Health and Safety initiative of combating slips, trips and falls, the system comprises of EMCO Marshall matting in the exterior and intermediate areas and EMCO Attach? TT within the foyer of the hospital. In the 'clean off' zone around the Marschall 542S door, a hybrid of polymide/nylon yarn carpet acts as a final brush off area. This material not only collects potentially contaminating particles but the texture of the matting also makes it safer for people and, according to Emco, 'cuts down on slips, trips and falls'. The system's performance has been very encouraging according to the estate manager.
