Police stations in the West Midlands have been equipped with Evac+Chair to cater for the emergency evacuation of mobility impaired staff under the Disability Discrimination Act. The lightweight unit allows one person to transport another downstairs or on the flat quickly and safely. Controlled operation is due to the interface of modified V belts which work continuously to slow down descent over stair nosings in proportion to the weight of the passenger, which can be up to 150kg.

Payload capacity and angle of descent properties are featured on the new Mk Three emergency evacuation chair from Evac+Chair. The chair now accepts a person of 150kg, yet is still lightweight at less than 10kg. It now functions on stair gradients of 40% making it fully compliant with National Fire Protection Association guidelines. Meeting the Disability Discrimination Act, the interface of V-belts slows down descent over stair nosings in proportion to the passenger weight.
