Manchester-based architectural practice Warburton Associates specified two of Finnforest's engineered timber products to help deliver the award winning Acorn's Horticultural Centre in Edenbridge, Kent.
The building has been built for charity CARE. 'Throughout the design we were committed to creating a modern inclusive environment, incorporating sustainable energy technology and renewable materials,' said architectural director Richard Ward.
Finnforest's cladding was specified in the construction of the building, along with two 9m unguyed 6Kw wind turbines and other sustainable energy products.
The company's Kerto is a high performance laminated veneer lumber that retains the appearance of natural wood. It is produced by continuously gluing 3mm thick, rotary peeled spruce veneers together to form a continuous billet.
