Gerflor has revitilised its Tarasafe safety floorcovering range with the introduction of a new range of colours and themes.
The extended palette of colours ensures Tarasafe's position in a marketplace where demand for HSE-compliant safety floorcoverings is growing steadily.
Tarasafe creates the permanent slip-resistant finish by incorporating hard-wearing carborundum particles into the wearlayer. New colours are available in four colour collections: Urban, Spicy, Fresh and Natural.
Vinyl flooring manufacturer Gerflor has installed floor coverings throughout Liskeard Community Hospital in Cornwall. The wards, corridors, shower rooms and sports flooring for the physiotherapy suite are described as warm and welcoming.
A variety of flooring types was used including Tarasafe and Taraflex to create attractive, hygienic, easy-to-maintain and safe floors for all users, Trasafe is a slip resistant floor covering claimed to be ideal for use in within a high traffic hospital particularly where water maybe present and users could be unsteady on their feet. Taraflex Sport M+ which is said by Gerflor to offer comfort, performance and great shock absorption was the choice for the physiotherapy suite.
Gerflor has been awarded a BRE 'A' environmental recognition rating for its Mipolam range of commercial floorcovering. As well as demanding that products are recyclable, the BRE rating system checks processes during manufacturing, including air and water pollution, energy use, the environmental impact of materials and carbon emission levels.
Reduced energy and water consumption are key features in the engineering of Mipolam products. No heavy materials are said to be used and the company says the application of volatile organic compounds is restricted to levels well below legal limits.
A delighted Hazel Cook, contract marketing manager said: "We are a socially responsible manufacturer and take this commitment very seriously."
The Taralay Premium collection from Gerflor offers specifiers a choice of floorcoverings ideal for busy environments such as shops, schools, hospitals, offices and restaurants. There are eight designs in the range with vibrant colours. The portfolio features the Protescol 'no-polish-for-life' surface treatment, which comes with Sanosol anti-fungicidal and bacteria protection, both ensuring long lifecycle performance.
Gerflor say Taralay Premium is 100% recyclable and manufactured using sustainable raw materials and production processes.
Giving what the company says are "high quality" decorative flooring designs, Artline vinyl tiles from Gerflor are also "tough, practical and long lasting". The tiles require low maintenance making them ideal for domestic and low traffic areas according to the manufacturer. They comprise a 0.3mm grandparent wear layer, a design film and compact underlayer.
Aimed at brightening up the floor of an accident and emergency department, Gerflor's Taralay Uni vinyl flooring was installed at The Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. As well, the company says, as offering durability and sound insulation properties the floor surface, treated with Protecsol, is a practical "no polish" surface, ideal for high traffic areas.
For use at matches, Gerflor has supplied a fully transportable volleyball court to the English Volleyball Association. The product is the officially approved flooring of the International Volleyball Association.
It is suitable for use in new and refurbished gymnasiums with a user-friendly and safe floor provided.
Available in six designs, the Taralay Impressions range by Gerflor is a solution for normal to high-traffic areas in commercial properties, hospitals and schools. The types available include Comfort, which provides a high density foam backing, and Standard Multilayered - without foam. It also cushions falls and provides sound insulation. No polish is required due to the Protecsol uv-cured polyurethane surface treatment.
Dual density foam backings are new features on the Sport M Plus and Sport Performance Plus flooring from Gerflor's Taraflex range. As their names suggest, these are specialist sports floorings, and the new options are said to significantly improve shock absorption ratings. Both benefit from a 2mm pure pvc wearlayer and Protecsol 'no polish' surface treatment.
