Vision 3000 aluminium clad timber windows from Glas Facades are now available in a range of specifications, achieving Window Energy Ratings in bands A, B and C. While a grade C rated window is considered an excellent energy efficient window system, the ultimate grade A window means that the tested configuration will absorb more energy from the sun during a year than it loses through the window during the year. This is a hard standard to achieve and requires the use of near airtight window seals, low-iron white glasses for solar gain and highly insulating coated glasses coupled with insulating inert gas between the panes of the glazing units. The Vision 3000 range combines an aluminium outer profile with solid timber internally, in a natural or painted finish. Exceptional airtightness is a feature of the windows, which in independent tests have exceeded a Class 4 rating, the highest rating under EN 12207:1999-11.

The Glas Vision 3000 range combines an aluminium outer profile with solid timber internally, in a natural or painted finish. BFRC Window Energy Ratings in bands A to C have been achieved by using different glazing combined with the window's own airtightness reading. The range is also claimed to score high for sustainability. All of the timber used is PEFC certified, while up to 70 per cent of the aluminium is recycled. This, combined with low inherent u values, makes then suitable for carbon neutral, zero carbon and PassivHause developments. Four timbers are available Finished Pine, Natural Pine, European Oak and Canadian Pine.
