Floored with accessories

Gradus Floored with accessoriesSome three new products in the flooring accessories range have been introduced by Gradus Accessories. The ADM5 aluminium stair edging, Photoluminescent stair edging inserts and AVR5020 aluminium floor trim, assist specifiers in meeting new legislation. For use on stairs where there is no floorcovering, the ADM5 provides a ramp back profile in a 55 by 55mm size. It incorporates a pvc slip resistant insert which utilises a solid band of colour to meet guidelines in Approved Document M and BS8300:2001 relating to dimension and step edge definition. The AVR5020 is designed to repair resilient floorcoverings, where welded joins have failed. Available in a 2mm gauge, it is a repair solution but can be specified and installed at door interfaces to offer a robust transition. Photoluminescent stair edging inserts are available in a single colour. They provide an after glow effect in dark conditions with Class A Photoluminescent Safety Product Association classification.

Taking the edge from danger

Gradus Taking the edge from dangerStair edgings from Gradus have been installed at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth, as part of a ?2.5 million refurbishment project. Specified by the project architect to define the step edge, the company's aluminium stair edgings in Snowdrift white with pvc slip resistant inserts, to avoid trip accidents, were installed on all auditorium staircases. During performances, light is limited, so the company manufactured welded corners to form a safe, neat and attractive edge around the open end of the step by concealing the corner of the carpet and stair edging, further limiting any potential trip or slip accidents.
